Anonymous Gets Oscar Nomination For Costume Design
Roland Emmerich’s Anonymous, in which Jamie plays the young Earl of Oxford has landed an Oscar nomination in the Costume Design category. The film features the lavish costumes from the Elizabethan era and in “my opinion”, it’s a well deserved nomination. Lisy Christi is the costume designer for this film and this is her first Oscar nomination. Catch the Oscars live on February 26th.

Our Pick For Jamie’s Best Performance In 2011
Happy Holidays everybody! The year has finally come to an end and we decided to evaluate Jamie’s acting performances throught the year and pick our favorite. Jamie appeared in Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part 2, but due to his small screen time in it, we considered his performance in Anonymous as The Young Earl of Oxford and his role as Caius Volturi in Breaking Dawn Part 2 as more notable. But there was a role wich shone above all the others: We have selected his performance as King Arthur from Starz TV Series Camelot as his best role of 2011. As Arthur, Jamie proved he can be a leading man and showed us what a fine actor he have become with his amazing performance. A Look Back at 2011: Jamie’s Year!
2011 was a great year for Jamie, not only careerwise but in his personal life too. Here are the highlights of 2011:
- February- Jamie wrapped up filming for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn in Baton Rouge, Lousiana and took his director’s chair along with him!
- April- Camelot (Starz TV series) got released in the US. In this same month, Jamie announced his engagement to actress Bonnie Wright.
- May- He won the “One to Watch” award at the National Movie Awards (NMA) in the UK. Then at the end of the month he landed the coveted role of Jace Wayland for The Mortal Instruments upcoming film City of Bones and earned this way, his first leading role for the big screen.
- June- Starz Studios canceled Camelot after just 2 weeks of airing its first season and citing significant production challenges as the reason. This was a sad moment for the cast and the series audiences but it also left Jamie with extra time to relax and prepare for his upcoming projects.
- July- On the 15 of this month, Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part 2, the last installment from the series films got their release, ending there Jamie’s duties as the evil warlock Gellert Grindelwald.
- August- He landed a modeling contract with UNIQLO becoming ambassador for the brand in the UK.
- October- Anonymous got their US release on the 28th of that month, putting Jamie again on the big screen after just merely two months from the Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part 2 release.
- November- The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 released on the 18th, brought Jamie back as the deliciously evil “royal vampire”–> Caius Volturi.
We hope you enjoyed our year in review for Jamie. Let us not forget that 2012 will be another exciting and busy year for him with fhe upcoming shooting of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones film as well as the release of Breaking Dawn Part 2. I can’t wait!
